International Venture Days
Given the international nature of the start-up projects in the Venture Lab and throughout IE Business School, we are delighted to offer students and alumni the opportunity to pitch their projects internationally or to an audience of local investors from their home markets or markets that they are targeting.
Venture Day Shanghai - April 2013
IE celebrated this week its 3rd Venture Day in Shanghai. The program was made up of 12 IE startup projects from the GXMBA and EX MBA programs presenting to a Jury of 10 local and international investors, including James Tan from Beijing, Casey Wahl from Tokyo and several local Chinese investors and venture capitalists. The winner of the morning session was a "Curly" (GXMBA), a new hair salon business model (see picture of winners Normen & Stephanie with Paris). In the afternoon the top three IE projects competed against 6 local Chinese startups. The winner in the afternoon was also an IE project, Aphenion Energy (GXMBA) which develops renewable energy solutions in Africa for small villages. Over 200 people attended the event at China's top Accelerator, Innovation Works in Shanghai.
