  • La creación de valor en la empresa familiar cotizada europea
    El estudio , elaborado en colaboración con la Banca Marh, analiza la creación de valor de las empresas familiares cotizadas en Europa durante el periodo 2001-2010 usando una muestra de 2.423 empresas con capitalización bursátil superior a los 50M Euros . Los resultados del estudio no dejan lugar a dudas: las empresas familiares han creado mas valor para sus accionistas durante el periodo de estudio , contribuyendo además en mayor medida a la creación de empleo en Europa.
     
  • Business Plan
    Multimedia technical note that analyses the most important factors to be taken into account in a business plan. It enables the student to analyse a business plan from an investor´s standpoint. The material is structured in the form of an exercise, involving a series of questions related to the critical features of a good business plan. At the end of the exercise, the student is offered the solution, the number of correct replies, and feedback with expert explanations.

  • The Entrepreneurial Spirit
    The Entrepreneurial Spirit is a technical note which consists of 10 videos of IE Business School alumni who detail their entrepreneurial experiences. The answers of eight standard questions show different points of view in diverse sectors. Additional information about the companies and the entrepreneur´s profile complement the material and help in the understanding of the experiences.
     
  • Entrepreneurship at Itunes
    This area instills students with a fundamental entrepreneurial culture in order to better understand the environment and leverage opportunities that arise in such a way that business initiatives achieve the right bottom line results.
     
  • Workcenter
    Complementary material to the written case containing three interviews detailing the development of the company. The case is presented by its author and it contains opinions of the company´s highest ranked directors – the founder and the chief adviser. The case also allows us to take a virtual tour of the first Workcenter store.The interviews focus on analyzing how the company made the transition from a small company into the market leader in its segment. The board members of the company divulge the key resources necessary to make a business idea a success. The multimedia material is based on the events of the company from its launch in 1998, to the year 2005 when there were more than 15 stores in Spain.
     
  • Venturing Lab
    Practical exercise in which the student watches different videos of “elevator pitches” and evaluates them according to the determined criteria. The aim is to learn how to evaluate the presentation of a business project. Once all of the videos have been graded the student will receive statistics on his or her evaluations. He or she will also receive the total statistics for his or her group in class so that they can discuss the reasons behind the decisions they made and the results obtained.
     
  • Financial analysis of a Business Plan
    Interactive case study in which students perform a financial analysis of a business plan, rigorously studying the project´s viability in the short and long term. Based on errors in the financial projections of an entrepreneur, the methodology is broken down in order to make and analyse the financial projections of a business plan. Materials include Excel templates with automatic feedback that indicates students whether or not their calculations are correct and, if not, they provide clues on how to reach the solution. There are also videos from reputable academics, entrepreneurs and experts on venture capital talking about the critical aspects to consider when making a business plan and its financial analysis.
     
  • PharmaMar
    Interactive case study that shows the business model of a Spanish biotech company. There is information on PharmaMar and the Zeltia group and two analysis exercises that enable students to think about some of the questions facing the company after signing an agreement with the multinational J&J.
     
  • ASBAN Workshop: Negotiation between investors and entrepreneurss y emprendedores
    The workshop focuses on the main barriers that investors and entrepreneurs find in a negotiation process, specially those regarding term sheet conditions.
